CHILDREN ARE THE FOCUS

For Mission for Children's Health Africa, children are the focus of our outreach. In today’s Church, children are often the most effective evangelists to their families. Older children can prove themselves to be very adept at teaching other children, and in encouraging their peers in the faith. In addition, children brought up in the Word and ways of God are our most powerful tools against tomorrow’s poverty, because they bring the heart and mind of Christ to the challenges they know from experience.

Children who grow up in poverty have firsthand experience no classroom could ever teach. Armed with the knowledge of God, these children become the adults who prove the most creative and effective in leading their communities in powerful solutions to the challenges presented by poverty.

Examples from the Bible

* David learned the way of a warrior as a shepherd boy. God used David whiles he was still too small for a mans armor to single-handedly defeat the Philistine giant Goliath, and so spare the people of Israel from slavery
* God put Moses' sister in place to carry out the plan that saved Moses from infanticide at the hand of the Egyptians
* Jeremiah was called to begin his prophetic ministry while in his teenage years.
* Mary accepted the blessing of God to become the mother of Jesus while still a teenager Children generally exhibit Trust and Obedience to God, which seems impossible to adults.
* In Gods sight there are no disposal children. The challenge is to help each child even, those in the most difficult circumstances, to fulfill his or her God given potential
* Gods heart for children leads us to practical action on their behalf.

Our mission statement addresses the approach our ministry should take

We are dedicated to making a life-changing difference for children with medical needs, one child at a time. Because God created the whole person, we believe that discipleship must also address the whole person. Mission for Children’s Health Africa wants to nurture children from the poorest of circumstances so they will become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults who will:

Follow Christ in faith and deed, Support themselves and share with others in need, Be responsible members of their family, church, community and nation; While maintain their own physical well-being.

We believe that the most loving thing we can do for these children is to introduce them to Jesus Christ

Only then will we believe that we are fulfilling the Great Commission through our distinctive calling to child discipleship and health care.
